Brown rice is also called ‘unpolished rice’ and is brown in color. It is believed to be more nutritious as compared to white rice as, there are many nutrients in the brown layer that normally get taken off in the polishing process.
Composition of Brown Rice contain: starch, protein, fat, fiber and vitamins such as: B1, B2, B3, B6; pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), paraaminobenzoic (PABA), folic (vitamin M), phytic; the trace elements such as calcium, iron, magnesium, selenium, glutathione (GSH), potassium and sodium.
